‘Red Mud’ handpainted silk georgette scarf Carole Waller archive
‘Red Mud’ handpainted silk georgette scarf – the imagery taken directly from one of the amazing red mud hand prints I saw in Peru in 1994. Made in 2002 as part of a collection called ‘Peru’ – and sold through Harvey Nichols and Liberty in London. The painted colours shimmer in red, orange and black.
Dry clean or wash gently by hand.
Each garment and scarf by Carole Waller is unique. They are handpainted and screenprinted by me at my studio just outside Bath. I use my fabrics as unprimed ‘canvases’ and the paintings evolve as I work so no two pieces are the same. I welcome visitors anytime, by appointment. The studio and small showroom is at our home 4 miles east of Bath on the A4, with good parking and a warm welcome. Waller and Wood also shows beautiful stoneware ceramics by Gary Wood.
