‘Figure’ handpainted silk doupion coat Carole Waller archive
A silk doupion ‘A’ line coat with an abstract reference to a figure painted on the back. The long coat was always my signature garment style and all time favourite way to express my ideas about ‘paintings which move’.
The fabric has a slight sheen, a slub in the weave and lovely sculptural drape. It’s painted in deep blues, black, silver and white. It was made around 2000/2005.

Carole Waller art to wear:
Each garment and scarf by Carole Waller is unique. They are handpainted and screenprinted by me at my studio just outside Bath. I use my fabrics as unprimed ‘canvases’ and the paintings evolve as I work so no two pieces are the same. I welcome visitors anytime, by appointment. The studio and small showroom is at our home 4 miles east of Bath on the A4, with good parking and a warm welcome. Waller and Wood also shows beautiful stoneware ceramics by Gary Wood.
