Handpainted grey modal shawl ‘Stripe’ Carole Waller – is part of the Colourblock collection. This collection is completely abstract and explores colour and luminosity on a range of fabrics to reveal dynamics of light, shade and hue. Colours emerge from a light grey background into yellow and aqua blue layered with screenprinted blocks of black, blue and red. This shawl made of modal cloth – a lovely fluid lightweight fabric for all seasons made from birch wood pulp.

Each garment and scarf by Carole Waller is unique and each scarf is signed. They are handpainted and screenprinted by me at my studio just outside Bath. I use my fabrics as unprimed ‘canvases’ and the paintings evolve as I work so no two pieces are the same. I welcome visitors anytime, by appointment. Find the studio and small showroom is at our home 4 miles east of Bath on the A4, with good parking and a warm welcome. Waller and Wood also shows beautiful stoneware ceramics by Gary Wood.
