‘Dot and Stripe’ handpainted double silk scarf Carole Waller

Inspired by the North West Yorkshire moors and the beautiful blue merle coat of the lurcher cross dog, Fly, who came to live with us in the late Spring of 2022 – this is a series of soft colour silk scarves.

Painted spots and stripes combine in this uneven abstract composition.

Slate grey, white, cream, greys are the elegant colour combination  with a similar coloured lining but no white. The silk crepe de chine scarf is a double layer, with painted images on one side and a subtler mirror of the same images on the lining, and  has a wonderful drape and weight. the ‘front and back’ aspect of the structure means that the scarf can be worn with infinite variations.

‘Dot and Stripe’ handpainted double silk scarf measurements :

Handwash and iron carefully – very slightly damp is easiest.

Carole Waller art to wear:

Each garment and scarf by Carole Waller is unique. They are handpainted and screenprinted by me at my studio just outside Bath. I use my fabrics as unprimed ‘canvases’ and the paintings evolve as I work so no two pieces are the same. Every scarf is signed and you can commission me to make a piece especially for you. I cannot colour match, but I can promise you a unique artwork. I welcome visitors anytime, by appointment. The studio and small showroom is at our home 4 miles east of Bath on the A4, with good parking and a warm welcome. Waller and Wood also shows beautiful stoneware ceramics by Gary Wood.
