‘Clouds’ Carole Waller painted silk tunic

This is a double layered straight sided tunic with a slash neck and raw edges at the hem to allow the fine edges of the silk to fall with complete fluidity. The inner layer is soft silk crepe de chine while the outer layer is transparent silk georgette. With both layers painted there is s shift in the imagery as the garment moves in wear. The colours include various slate greys, muted greys, rust browns and sand. Necklace by Beate Høst

‘Clouds’

A collection of unique painted garments by Carole Waller. The stormy Spring weather of 2024 has shown us remarkable cloud formations moving swiftly across each other and occasionally resting with dramatic contrasts of light and dark. These have been mesmerising, alarming,  fascinating in their continuous movement and restless energy. The paintings have no screenprint or narrative, just drawn line, movement and colour in an exploration of cross-currents, light and dark, change and infinity.

Carole Waller art to wear:

Each garment and scarf by Carole Waller is unique. My technique is to handpaint and screenprint each piece at the studio – which is just outside Bath. My fabrics are unprimed ‘canvases’ and the paintings evolve as I work, and consequently no two pieces are the same.

I also make bespoke commissions and would be delighted to work with you to create the style you prefer, in the colours and cloth of your choice. Despite the fact that I cannot colour match,  I can promise you a unique artwork. Visitors are welcome anytime, by appointment.

Waller&Wood.

Waller and Wood is our gallery name from the time we had a retail gallery in Bath between 2015 and 2020. My studio and small showroom is now at our home 4 miles east of Bath on the A4, with good parking and a warm welcome.

The code for this piece is Gs24/112
