‘Lightfield’
Handpainted blue crushed silk tunic ‘Lightfield’ Carole Waller
This collection is completely abstract and explores colour, luminosity and texture on a range of fabrics to reveal dynamics of light, shade and hue. The colours shift and change when worn, as movement brings them to life. This piece is a lightweight crushed silk oversize tunic. It is full of texture and refracted light in the beauty of crushed painted silk habotai painted in navy black, grey, cobalt and aqua. The Lightfield collection uses the minimum number of colours to create dramatic contrast.
Handpainted blue crushed silk tunic ‘Lightfield’ Carole Waller measurements:
Bust Flat : 170cm/64″
Crushed – variable size depending on level of the temporary crushed effect, see below:
Backlength: 86cm/34″ Bust: 102cm/40″ Shoulder to shoulder: 54cm/21″ Sleeve: 39cm/15″
Washing instructions:
The crushed effect is reinstated when you need to wash the tunic. Wash by hand and while still slightly damp, crush it into a round ball and tie it up tightly with string or elastic, or ribbon – to dry naturally. Very low maintenance and good fun. Adjust the crushed effect with steam from the kettle to soften and to make the garment bigger.
Carole Waller art to wear:
Each garment and scarf by Carole Waller is unique. They are handpainted and screenprinted by me at my studio just outside Bath. I use my fabrics as unprimed ‘canvases’ and the paintings evolve as I work so no two pieces are the same. I welcome visitors anytime, by appointment. The studio and small showroom is at our home 4 miles east of Bath on the A4, with good parking and a warm welcome. Waller and Wood also shows beautiful stoneware ceramics by Gary Wood.
