‘Warren’ handpainted silk organza shawl Carole Waller archive

A painted silk organza shawl painted black with lavender, blues, pinks, yellows with bits of text, idle chatter, hidden in the cloth – and a wonderful image of my dear friend Warren.  Made in 2002 as part of a collection called ‘Peru’ and inspired by the colour washed walls in a convent in Arequipa – and sold through Harvey Nichols and Liberty in London.

Dry clean or wash gently by hand.

Carole Waller art to wear:

Each garment and scarf by Carole Waller is unique. They are handpainted and screenprinted by me at my studio just outside Bath. I use my fabrics as unprimed ‘canvases’ and the paintings evolve as I work so no two pieces are the same. I welcome visitors anytime, by appointment. The studio and small showroom is at our home 4 miles east of Bath on the A4, with good parking and a warm welcome. Waller and Wood also shows beautiful stoneware ceramics by Gary Wood.
