‘Long Line’ handpainted silk viscose devore coat Carole Waller archive

A silk viscose devoré velvet coat – the silk viscose velvet devore hasetched lettering which reads ‘long line’  and the collection was made in 1997 to celebrate the birth of my 25 year old daughter Georgina. The name is also that of her great great grandmother and the long line between all these women, Georgina, myself, Irene my mum, my grandmother Ann and my great grandmother, Georgina. Love them all. this coat was worn by Ruby Turner on millenium night in London and once by my Mum – but it’s clean I promise – and full of memory.

The painted colours shimmer in black and grey.

Carole Waller art to wear:

Each garment and scarf by Carole Waller is unique. They are handpainted and screenprinted by me at my studio just outside Bath. I use my fabrics as unprimed ‘canvases’ and the paintings evolve as I work so no two pieces are the same. I welcome visitors anytime, by appointment. The studio and small showroom is at our home 4 miles east of Bath on the A4, with good parking and a warm welcome. Waller and Wood also shows beautiful stoneware ceramics by Gary Wood.
