A wonderfully light, smart silk doupion coat in painted with silver, grey, slate and pale olive marks – imprinted with images of scaffolding and metal walkways – creating a crisp dynamic contrast between the cloth and the images. This style does not have set in sleeves – they are cut in one with the front and back of the coat. The coat is unlined and has no buttons – so can be worn as a coat dress indoors in the winter and as an outdoor coat in the summer. Pockets are in the side seams.
The ‘Scaffolding ‘ collection is inspired by architecture and structures around and within buildings and the images of scaffolding around a Georgian bank in the middle of Bath are painted and screenprinted onto the lustrous silk doupion – so the silver and greycoloration has a slightly shiny metallic look.
