This wonderful straight coat style is part of a collection inspired by paintings in the Uffizi Gallery, Florentine streets, doorways, churches and colours, corrugated metal gates and sparkling sunshine. ‘ The woman who knew too much’ is to be found, staring out of the painting straight into the eyes of the onlooker – in Masaccio’s ‘ Holy Trinity’ in Santa Maria Novella church. The coat is heavy painted viscose rayon crepe. It has a great weight and drape, a loose unstructured collar, no buttons, no pockets. It comes with a narrow silk scarf with more sage and lime greens added to the greys, slate and cappuccino palette of the coat.
