The earliest known inscriptions in the Phoenician alphabet come from Byblos and date back to 1000 BC. It has only 22 consonants – vowels are implicit – making the crossword a nightmare I think. This text is to be found on metal panels in the Etruscan museum in Rome – and is imprinted into a painted silk twill scarf . The colours were inspired by the frescoes found at the Museum – soft painterly marks in blues, pink, grey, soft yellow and bright green . It is a long scarf you can use in lots of ways to wrap yourself up in colour.
Pure silk. Handwash.
