A subtle silk velvet devoré double scarf – with grey stripes, the image of Florence’s cathedral the DUOMO, and colours of greys, pinks, white, aqua, orangey rust and soft yellow. Devoré velvet is special for its textural effect – partially opaque velvet pile contrasted with sheer silk areas. This piece is from the Collection called ‘ The woman who knew too much’ inspired by Florence streets, doorways, churches and colours, corrugated metal gates and sparkling sunshine in January 2020.’ The woman who knew too much’ is to be found, staring out of the painting straight into the eyes of the onlooker – in Masaccio’s ‘Trinity’ in Santa Maria Novella church.
