The Colosseum in Rome is such a feat of engineering and the close gathering of people – built by slaves, visited by thousands. It was built to hold 50,000- 80,000 people! I photographed this beautiful building in January 2019 and made a series of screen printed and painted pieces of which this is one. This fine, translucent silk shawl can wrap round your neck and face, or you hair alongside its more obvious use as a shawl. It is as a one off piece by Carole Waller – grey, slate, taupe, white and stony tones.
Handwash and iron on hot.
