A painted and screen printed silk crepe de chine scarf by Carole Waller – inspired by etched glass at Frances Bacon studio in High Lane Gallery in Dublin, Ireland. The studio was painstakingly transferred with its 7000 objects from London between 1998 and 2001 – including the staircase. Dots are printed onto the glass which prevents museum visitors falling down the stairs – and this image evolved from my photographs.

Handwashable – the scarf measures 1.85m x 40cm and is a deep slate grey with vibrant colours at each end.
